I was watching W5 an investigative journalism program on CBC, Sunday night. It was titled ‘Who is killing the Rizzutto’s’. This family which is based in Montreal maintains control and influence throughout the province of Quebec. They control via bribery; police, judges, ministers and many others in positions of authority. It is incredible the millions of dollars they earn off the backs of individuals who partake in their illegal activities. If they don’t pay their debts the consequences can be extremely violent. Vito Rizzutto was extradited to the United States for his part in the conspiracy and execution of rival New York based mobsters. While doing hard time many of his family members were biting the bullet and being taken out. He will be coming back to Canada in late 2012. This time with his network decimated, the question remains, ‘Will he avenge his fathers’ and sons’ deaths or will his life come to a violent conclusion?’ “He, who lives by the sword, dies by the sword.” The unfortunate reality is money makes the world go around as Tony Montana from the movie Scarface, played by Al Paccino, said, “When Ju got the money, Ju got the power!” As a father, I try to instil in my children the value of money, not as the root of all evil, but as a responsibility. How one handles money determines the character of the individual. If it becomes your sole motivation it will destroy you. Consequently, I regress to a moment in my life when I worked for an individual with plenty of money. He tried to control me because he thought he was all powerful. We argued and I said to him, “For a wealthy man, you are worthless!” Sincerely-Philip Magnoli, my friends call me Don Filippo
I think I love you!
