The G20 as a group rejected assisting the Europeans with further financing to correct the issues plaguing the region as a whole. As was evident in the BBC News article aired on Sunday (LINK PREVIOUS 02/28), it demonstrated how Goldman Sachs orchestrated, for a ransom, the manipulation of numbers to bring Greece and other countries into line. Canada’s balance of payments deficit in goods and services shrank in the last three months of 2011 by $2B to $10.3B vs previous quarter largely because of higher exports in energy and automobile products. This index measures transactions between Canadian s and the rest of the world and is known as the capital account. In deficit it shows Canadians are consuming more from the rest of the world than it is selling and doing so by borrowing from foreigners. Canadian GDP growth numbers will be released Friday with an estimated growth of 2.5%, a positive number could see the C$ continue to fly higher.
