Ben Bernanke testified on the state of the Nation. His concern was that the 8.3% unemployment rate understates the weakness in the U.S> labour market. He stated clearly that there are a lot of people who are either out of the labour force simply because they feel they can’t find any employment. Also a majority that are working are in the part time variety which is troubling if the debt load of the average American is high. The  reality is that the standard of living for many Americans is diminishing. The American Dream is eroding as more and more become debt slaves to an economic system that is being manipulated for the benefit of those in Power.

Syrians are being slaughtered by their own government, as the United Nations seeks a resolution to end the blood shed. Unfortunately the Russians and Chinese did not support the resolution because they have both military and economic interests. Syria is their only gateway to the region within the Middle east. The Russians maintain their only navel base within the borders of Syria. Hopefully some conclusion will come quickly to appease the masses that seek change. Iran will be next
