This Weekend the Provincial Liberals elected their new leader, Kathleen Wynne. She becomes Premier by acclamation. Her previous boss quit when the going got tough! Dalton couldn’t handle the heat as his lies were about to catch up. He rallied the teachers for support promising the world and then pulling the rug from underneath them. With no formidable opponent Teflon Dalton continued to win elections, deflecting responsibility from many spending misadventures. With an exploding budget deficit, he reconvened the Legislature because if a negotiated settlement wasn’t reached, a 3% increase would result by Sept 1st  2012. Wonder why they wanted to continue negotiations.

Consequently, the torch has been passed to a former Education Minister, who had previously introduced a curriculum that was considered highly controversial and may have promoted her own agenda. Many citizens considered this an abuse of power and democracy. To win the leadership, Wynne won over opponents looking out for their best interest. She will consider repealing Bill 115 which was imposed by the prorogued legislature without debate. Where are the teachers going to go? They put all their influence and money into the Liberal Party.  The Conservatives will cut and the NDP will tax them to death. Things have to change in Canada, especially how leaders come to power undemocratically. We need to subdue the influence of unions, like the teachers, who dictate to the rest of the Province. If the People decide to elect based on merit that is one thing, otherwise our democracy is at risk.

In Egypt the Muslim Brotherhood pirated the rebellion and sacrifice of the majority, now blood in the streets. In Toronto, an elected Mayor with 57% of the vote was told by the leftist councillors they would not support him because the day of accountability had arrived.  Thankfully we don’t have guns readily available like our American counterparts; otherwise I could see civil unrest if reckless Politicians continue to abuse their authority at the taxpayers expense.
