Gold pulls back after surging to USD$1695 from $1627.90. A weekly close below USD$1626.90 could send the yellow metal toward $1000 very quickly making investors cringe and soil themselves. Gold is down $8.80 to open @ 1649.10; Silver slips $0.12 @ 31.71/USD/oz. Energy is a reality as it is the driving force of industry and innovation. Overnight we saw local gas prices rise almost 3 cents a litre with no justification. Who are these people that dictate to us that gas will be $1.50/liter by summer? High energy prices coupled with high debt levels only mean trouble. The Euro seems to have capped out above the 1.3300/USD for now and Canada heads toward PAR once again.
