This time the roll was reversed, since Papa Joe hasn’t been at his optimal self, I took the initiative to ask a friend,  Tony “The  Big Cheese”, if I could bring him up north for a day of mushroom picking. Tony, the most generous man on earth said of course. So Papa Joe was excited and even invited a friend of his but he declined due to his own body aliments. My Dad asks me if I still wanted to go and I said to him, are you breathing? You are still alive, aren’t you? Of course, we are going. 

As I said, my Father hasn’t been well so the drive was an adventure in itself as the change of colours was starting to materialize heading north.  Upon arrival, The Big Cheese had a pizza ready for when we came back from our excursion. With his cane in tow, we headed to the forest to find the elusive fungi.  Upon our arrival, my Father had difficulty walking yet managed to spot the mushrooms as if he has a bionic eye despite cataracts that cloud his vision. Combined with a bad heart and a bad knee, I felt as if I would be doing an imitation of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie Commando. One slip and I would have to carry the man by placing him over my shoulder, to the car. Luckily, he didn’t fall and saved me a hernia. I am just thankful we did it realizing that this could have been the last time I ever go mushroom picking with my dad. A memory I will cherish forever and just happy I made the time.

Unfortunately, the world continues to be in disarray as North American economies continue to experience delays in the supply chain and logistics. Ports on the Californian west coast are beyond full capacity as ships anchor offshore and wait their turn. The traffic has gotten so bad that many have rerouted toward Vancouver causing the same stressful overcapacity issues. Things can become even more exacerbated as the Truckers are about to bring things to a standing halt as they join the mass protests. It seems that some leaders are better cut out to lead than others. Consequently,  with respect to the overall state of affairs, USA Housing starts fall 1.6% and Building Permits plunge 7.7%. Further, US Industrial Production disappointed down <1.3%> in September expected (+0.2%), a huge miss.  North Americans continue to be divided by mandates and ineffective administration. Coupled with inflationary pressures and mass firings, they are putting greater pressure on family and individual households. Meanwhile,  the Chinese are expecting an 8% growth rate this year showing a disturbing reality of a decaying economy in a transforming Democracy. The reality is that the greatest economy for decades looks like it will fall sooner than later from the number one position with huge implications toward Global policing.
